Can't blame the teacher. Cursive is a dead language, like Latin.

She's not there to show off her calligraphy skills, she's there to learn. This uppity Alyssa girl needs to learn some respect.

I saw this on Yahoo yesterday and can't understand why it's becoming a "thing."

Teacher asked student to stop writing in cursive. Student continues to write in cursive. Teacher asks student to stop again. Am I missing something?

FWIW I also had a teacher tell me that

I had learned cursive the year before at another school and I was using it to write my name in class and she told me not to and I believe even took points off of something. I was a very upset little kid about it

Is the teacher related to the one in Oklahoma who told a left-handed pre-K boy that he should write with his right hand because left-handed people are evil?

And just curious, but why is the kid's mom being a mllitary veteran important to this story?

1. Cursive is awesome
2. Teachers should spend more time teaching cursive and less time bitching about buying school supplies and having to decorate their room and their 3 month vacation being over.

yes that was sarcasm

I think this is fake as well. But running to social media every time something makes you mad is becoming a problem.

My wife is a high school teacher. In 15 years of teaching, she has never had a parent meeting over anything other than performance. This school year, she's had two over stupid crap like this.

Writing in cursive is a skill that wasn't needed in the world 50 years ago, 20 years ago, and surprise, not even today.

If this angers you, it's called faux outrage.
