I find it hilarious I see so many people saying individuals deciding to take a knee as a symbolic way of highlighting inequality are disrespecting the country. But have no problem whatsoever with people proudly celebrating confederate flags and symbolisms which represent treason to the highest degree. I don't care what good 'ole grandpaw told you ... the CONFEDERACY FOUGHT AGAINST THE UNITED STATES b/c they wanted to keep slavery and the newly elected U.S. President (Lincoln) didn't.

So it's a biased race issue, it has nothing to do with being patriotic and respectful. Truly patriotic and respectful white americans would never celebrate and commemorate those who FOUGHT AGAINST THE U.S. AND ENSLAVED AFRICANS with statues, schools, streets, shirts, flags, etc nor would they have a problem with someone exercising their protected CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to take a knee during the anthem. Even the anthem says we're the land of the free, not the land of "I Stand For the Anthem So You Must Stand Or Else!"

Your use of capital letters isn’t going to persuade anyone.

Damn son. LSU just beat the gata's and there's still some decent football games to watch, yet you're talking about this?

treason?

The CSA very legally and with due process seceded from the USA.

The USA illegally invaded the CSA.

But to address your rather stupid comparison, who exactly is celebrating the Confederacy during the playing of the National Anthem at sporting events?

What of I told you that Abraham Lincoln, prior to the Civil War, was part of a movement to send all the enslaved in America back to Africa?

They were already slaves.

No way whites were the ones who chased them down to bring them.

So how long did it take for the Emancipation Proclamation to be agreed upon and signed? The beginning of that war, right?

If done during the presentation of colors and playing of the National Anthem it sure as shite is.

quote:

§171. Conduct during playing During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.
