Taking a 3-day weekend

So you want to take a long weekend that's not already a holiday weekend (Labor Day, etc.). Assuming your plans don't dictate the schedule (like going to a wedding or something) What day do you take off work? Friday or Monday?
In my mind, if you take off Friday, you're doing yourself a disservice. If you take off Monday, you get to come back to a short work week, and hotels are easier to book on Sundays. I also find Sundays to be great days to spend in cities you've never been. It has more of a laid-back feel to it. If you take Friday off, you have to spend your Sunday traveling back home. I'd much rather spend Monday traveling.
Also, in my experience, most bosses don't care if you head out an hour or two early on Friday anyway as long as you give them a heads up. This basically translates to a free head start on the weekend.
What says the OT?

Work a 9/80 schedule. Have three day weekends every other weekend.

I always take Friday. If I take Monday off, I spend all day Monday dreading how I have to go to work tomorrow. Doesn't even feel like a day off.
Plus I'd rather miss a Friday when nothing is going on than a usually busy Monday.

The OT all work for themselves and set their own schedules and can take off a 3-day or 4-day weekend or even a full week if they want at a moment's notice.

I have zero problem working Fridays. They are honestly my favorite day to work. its laid back. the clients i work with are laid back and in a good mood. Everyone knows its the start of the weekend and are happy.
Having Monday off is the greatest ever. Sunday can be spent recovering from Saturday. and Monday can be used to just work on projects you need to get done. Everyone else has to work on Monday so you wont be bothered by everyone

Your manager at Popeye's will know how to best accommodate your scheduling needs.

I don't work every other Friday, so I usually take that Monday off.

I don't really do anything on Sunday. Not drink or go out or anything. I'd rather have Friday off.

I take Fridays off unless some specific event requires me to take Monday instead.
I dominate Mondays. Fridays have the potential to be lighter if I hustle during the week and slice through my to-do list and required tasks. More people tend to avoid Fridays for calls, meetings, requests, etc. and are just generally more "out of pocket," so there is less chance I get a client or coworker bugging me.

I can't remember the last time I was still in the office at 5pm on a Friday. Monday's can be a different beast.
Always take Monday off.
