That email response from the chief is comically bad.
It's my understanding that Kevlar doesn't stop a knife, so I would assume it wouldn't stop a broad-head either.
So...a full SWAT team in tactical gear means peace and dialogue now? Doesn't exactly scream either to me. Especially if that dog was moving away...quite unpredictable.

Cops are idiots. How this country is letting this happen is beyond me. Time to just shut down all the swat teams. I'm more afraid of them than gangs, issa, drug dealers, or Obama.

Sometimes, unfortunately, reason and logic don't create results.
This isn't going to change by a peaceful debate. The behavior of cops is so outrageous, only equally outrageous behavior is going to get the attention of politicians. If I go talk to my chief of police friend and ask him to close down the swat team, he's gong to laugh. If a politician see an emotional issue, if the press show people reacting violently to police abuses, some rabble rouser politician will see an opportunity and make some hay by shitting this nonsense down.
I'd much rather call my representative and ask them to do something about it, but that will result in nothing.
