If you would have read the thread earlier, you would have taken 190. You could have stopped for some Boudin and Cracklins and already been home munching on your couch watching football.

West bound is completely blocked. I'm east bound.

I took 190 about an hour ago going east.

Traffic on 190 heading west was abysmal. Traffic for 30 miles, mostly dead stopped. All of those people taking an alternate route since the basin was closed I think.

I was about a 1/2 mile away from the top of the bridge west bound when something caught on fire and stayed on fire. This was at about 1240PM today. I waited half an hour and then drove the shoulder to the exit and took a gravel road 17 miles to Krotz Springs, Are you telling me that the bridge is still closed west bound?

When will y'all learn. I'll take my chances with 90 anytime.
Good luck.

90 ain't great, but it's at least somewhat predictable. You don't have a panic attack or wonder if you're gonna have to piss over the railing.

It's simple, look at Waze before you start a drive

Unless it happens after you're at the no turnaround point.
I just like options, any options.

I was coming in from Houston using 190 and it was a parking lot for those headed west. Twenty miles of bumper to bumper traffic because that bridge into Krotz Springs has to merge in to one lane as you head west. I felt terrible for those people. What a shot show. I figure it'll take three or more hours to get through it.

Yes, it looking I-10 west is still shut down.

We got to the top of the whiskey bay pilot channel rise and it was 4 gutter punks sitting next to a broken down car, with their dog, and one of them playing a guitar!

Yes, according to DOTD. I think one of the news sites said they have to inspect the road and bridge for structural problems due to the fire before they can re-open. Truck full of Pepto-Bismol caught on fire (insert heartburn joke here).

Coming from Houston. We are stuck on I-10. Stop and go starting about MM 120W. Waze has it starting to clear at 124. I'm at 123.
