(meant to post to vetteguy) Almost happened to my pops, too. He had a fall on Thanksgiving a couple years ago. Two months later he was all sluggish and fricked up. We assumed it was heart/stroke/diabetes stuff. Nope, had a hematoma from the fall. Luckily, he recovered OK.

Secretary at our office just told me yesterday some guy she knows went outside for a cigarette at 2:00 am last week, slipped and smacked his head, and froze within 15 minutes in the sub-zero temps.
Everyone knows cigarettes can kill

If I'm not feeling well, I'm not automatically assuming I have diabetes.
smh...of course not. But you just dont feel "under the weather" and die next day with diabetes. You have other symptoms that shouldnt be overlooked such as
-urinating often
-staying thirsty
-very fatigued
-numbness in hands or feet
the extreme fatigue and urinating is a tale tale sign that is hard to overlook

I urinate a lot, but I drink lots of water and coffee.

Did he die?
Eventually. He was only in the whale or "great fish" for three days and three nights.
Wimp. I could do that standing on my head.

About 15 yrs ago my SIL's brother was found in his back yard dead. He had been practicing with his bow (rigged for bow fishing) and there must have been a kink or knot in the line, causing it to spring back at high speed. Arrow entered his eye went through his skull (nock first). Gruesome way to die.
I know it sounds impossible, and I would not have believed it if not close to the family.
well this is our winner

It's not all that strange but a guy I knew was relocating to Cali with his GF in a POS car. The car broke down on the interstate and he was run over by an 18 wheeler...the GF was inches from death too.

My next door neighbor smothered to death in his laundry room, zipped up inside of a body bag.
No foul play involved. He put himself in there and the zipper got stuck.
That's weird enough, but the whole story is even stranger.
Out of respect and laziness, I will leave the rest unsaid.
wtf! dude tell the story

My cousin disappeared for 4 days. People searched high and low for him. On the 5th day he turned up dead in the bottom of his pool at his apartment complex. It had already been searched.
We all suspected foul play because he had drug problems, but always kept in touch with his mom and dad. Not hearing from him was a big red flag.
Local police ruled it an accident and never investigated.

A friend of my mom tried to playfully startle her husband by dropping an ice cube down the back of his neck as he was watching TV. Apparently the sudden shock caused him to have a brain aneurysm and then a stroke. He died shortly after.

I have a friend whose fiancé died from anaphylactic shock from eating crawfish. He had eaten shellfish his entire life. Completely random occurrence.

When I was in elementary school, they were building the new courthouse in Lafayette. The counterweight somehow fell out of the crane and landed on on of the workers. Pancake, dead.
