Female B is some sort of government official?

No, the one looking to get the waiver is not foreign... although she is from Alabama and is a Tide fan, maybe she's trying to get a waiver to marry her father-brother?

Im thinking this>>>
quote:
If you are a gay or lesbian U.S. citizen and are engaged to be married to someone of the same gender, then you are eligible to file a fiance petition (Form I-129F). A same-sex engagement may be the basis for a fiance petition even if the U.S. citizen petitioner is a resident of a state that doesn’t recognizes same-sex marriages as legal. The holder of a K-1 fiance petition may enter the U.S. for the purposes of getting married within 90 days of entering. On the basis of the marriage, the foreign national may then file for a green card through a process called adjustment of status.
If the marriage is less than two years old at the time that USCIS approves the green card, the permanent residency will be condition. Before the expiration of the green card, the I-751 petition to remove conditions on residency must be pursued. This is true regardless of whether the marriage is same sex or not.

One of the ladies in my office just came up to another girl and had a quick, hushed conversation, handed her a couple pieces of paper and then walked away quickly.
Female B(who was handed the papers) comes up to my station shortly after and tells me that Girl A asked her to sign a waiver which allows her and her partner to be married within 72 hours; Girl A must also come up with an explanation on the waiver for why it should be granted.
These two don't know each other very well (Girl B had to actually ask what Girl A's name was when she told me about it).
Anyone had something like this done?
And this whole time I'm sitting out her like an a-hole waiting to place my order! God help you if my fries are cold!!!

I just went to the courthouse and had the judge grant a waiver to be married less than 72 hours after I got my marriage license. we were coming in from out of state and couldn't get one before that so I guess I had a reason.

She should absolutely sign it but on the explanation part of the waiver write:
quote:
I work with this person but barely know her. Please grant her request so she'll leave me alone. Who comes up with these rules anyway?

So, what was the request from Female B?
Whatever it is, telling them you'll do nothing until the two of them scissor in the break room.

Somewhere with stations. Sounds awful.

I'm not being asked to sign anything. Girl B just came up to share what was asked of her, despite the implication that what was being asked of her was highly private

That's what I thought. Life changing event such as marriage, divorce, new kid(dependent) etc
She may be trying to hurry and Marry a mofo to file a claim for something that already happened. Idk. But it's not completely whack on insurance or foreigner ideas.
My company covers domestic partners regardless of marriage being legal or not.

Well Girl B is a graphic designerwho's only been on board for about 3 months, so she doesn't have anything to do with employee benefits or anything like that. Girl A did buy a brand new car yesterday, so that's out of the ordinary...

If girl A bought a car yesterday it could be some type of employment verification.

Nah, I saw the papers, it was definitely for a marriage license type thing.
Posted on 4/7/15 at 9:31 am to ManBearTiger
Well it's possible girl A is a moron or a wacko and thinks some random person can legally sign some kind of marriage waiver for her.
