Florida got pretty lucky that it didn't have more time. With that eyewall in place we could have seen some rapid intensification in the next 6-12 hours over water.

I'm just glad it made hurricane status.

I can believe those velocities, the eye wall glanced here at 1:30 and the winds were worse than I expected. No big storm surge though. Getting light, it will be interesting to see how the area looks.

Meh. It was the best case scenario for a hurricane being that it was a low Cat 1 and got out of town very quickly.

Peek was spot on for this one.

There is a band running from St. Pete through Disney. We got strong winds about 4-5 am and are still getting rain. Disney is getting hammered right now with 50 mph gusts.

Tampa just reported that St. Pete just got 45'ish gusts. That is running right up I-4 to the Green Swamp.

Drove hwy 98 coastal hwy. Very little damage. Storm surge did cross the hwy and one lane blocked with debris from marsh. We were lucky. A little stronger and it could have been bad. Surge was 7 foot here per hwy elevation.

I live about half a mile from Sea World. Just had a gusty band come through but it has been relatively quiet here. Had a home in Crystal River on the water years ago, bet it has water in it this morning.

Just high waves and a rip tide as far as I know. Waiting on the wife to wake up let me how they fared over night there at her parents house

Text I just got "It's like nothing happened here (Destin)"

Hmm. My parents were in direct path of this thing. I got a missed call from them an hour ago (as scheduled) so I'm sure it only messed up the yard.

Lazy mutt. Get up and answer your parent's call right after a storm.
