What are some stories that posters on this site broke or solved? I recall something a while back where this site was mentioned in a pretty big story or crime. What are some others?

The shooting at TJ Ribs Acadian, IIRC about 5 -10 minutes after it happened and before any news channel reported it.

I'll always remember the day/night of the Boston Bombing.
Linked with police scanners and what not.
TD was WAY AHEAD of the news outlets.
It was that night that really cemented how inept our national media was. You had anonymous posters on a message board that were hours ahead of anything reported on TV.
