I had it last year too. Of course when it hit I had just eaten sushi. Holy hell that was terrible.

I had eaten seafood gumbo with shrimp, oysters, and okra. I won't touch the stuff anymore. Makes me gag thinking about it. 8 hours is a long arse time to projectile from your body. I felt like someone had seriously beat me within inches of my life because your body tightens up every muscle.

Yes, I ran the hot water too. Thankfully, I have a tankless system. I've never been that sick in my life.

I can laugh about it now, but it's really one of the more disgusting viruses you can get. And it's ridiculously contagious, and transmitted through the ingestion of feces or vomit particles.

It hit our house about 3 a.m. Sunday. Wife and I both had it and I will attest that our plumbing did a superb job handling the large amount of crap and puke that was thrown at it. I quit puking about 3 p.m sunday afternoon, but still feel like death today.
I was miserable, I couldn't puke without crapping. Multiple times I thought of this..

Plays a big part. Anti-bacterial does nothing to kill/stop the stomach virus. Bleach and maybe Lysol III kill it.
The only way you get rid of it is to wash it down the drain.
Washing your hands with soap and water for 20-30 seconds - good.
using antibacterial hand sanitizer - does nothing for norovirus.

How long is it contagious? My youngin' had it Friday and a bleached all table and counter tops, mopped floor, vacuum and then by Sunday night I was on the 10th level of hell puking my intestines out.
