Let's say you are happy with current job, but got offered another job in the same field for %10 more money. What percent would you stay put at your current job?

If i was happy, I would not leave for just a 10% raise. It also depends on what your salary is... If you're making $60k a year, $6k is not that much money. If you're making $120k per year, $12k is a little more desirable but still not enough, IMO.

15-20%

Depends on how much that 10% represents.

10% at 75-100k a year meaning 7500-10,000 more a year is a lot more than 10% at 42k per year.

If I like my current job, it's going to take more than 10% for me to leave for an unknown. That's if advancement opportunity and benefits and work/life balance etc are all equal. It's usually not equal though :

We just went through this.

I'd say, using 100k, I'd almost no question move at 50%.

35% I'm debating it depending on market I'm moving to.

Less than that I'd have an inclination to stay, but use my knowledge to get myself a raise.

No, I would not leave my current company for a 10% raise. I probably wouldn't leave for anything less than 50-60% raise.

Depends on vacation time, work/life balance, etc. I've passed on a few opportunities which would have increased my pay in the past year because one was with amazon (which works people to death) and the other required international travel at least once every month.

This is my take as well. Although advancement opportunity isn't that great where I work the work/life balance is awesome. I never have to work overtime, I'm also able to work from home once every other week, travel is minimal, my manager is very flexible, and I have 5 weeks of PTO.

Since my kids are into a lot of extra curricular activities, I greatly value the work/life balance over the money. I'm able to see or participate in almost everything they do, which is very important to me. Ensuring that I build a great relationship with my family far outweighs that extra 10-15% more I can make working a job that forces me to clock in 60-70 hours per week.

It takes me 10 minutes to get to work, so it'll have to be a lot more than a 10% raise

If I was offered 10% and the ability to work from home, probably.

If I was offered 10% and the ability to move to a better city, probably.

If I was offered 10% and would be in the same city and same work environment, no.

If I was offered 50% and had to travel weekly, probably.

ETA: the new city scenario would be contingent upon being able to move in a year, I can't move currently.

Seriously?

If you were making 100K, you wouldn't leave for 140K assuming your current employer was not willing to budge on the 100K?

That seems very closed minded

To answer OP's question, if another employer offered me say 20% to get me to leave, I'd probably stay where I was for 10%

If they can't do that, than I'd probably move on if all else was equal between the 2

This is actually relative, imo. If you are making $60k, but living paycheck to paycheck, then $6k extra a year may be worth it. If your comfortable at $120k, then $12k may not be worth it

I'm not too fond of my supervisor. If I was offered 10% to leave, it would take at least 40% to make me stay.

Definitely wouldn't for 10% if I were happy. 20% probably not either.

35%, not moving cities

I am happy in my current job, but I could be money-whipped.

I would not leave for a 10% increase. I took that exact pay cut earlier this year, and it's really not that big of a difference.

I was once happy at a job making $12 and hr straight out of trade school. I got offered a job making double that, and it was a no brainer to leave. Regardless of how much I enjoyed working for the previous company, the money was too much to pass on.
