I believe in LA after a certain age you are supposed to have an ID card on you at all times. All they need is a name a DOB and they can run your info though.

Probably because you usually don't become a trooper without a 4 year degree or military experience.

The brave young man had his family there to look on. They look especially proud of him.

then why all the controversy over voting and IDs.

I know you are supposed to, but I just hopped in, I didn't know the driver was going to California Stop at a stop sign that is always watched.

I haven't had too much interaction with Troopers but by all accounts they conduct themselves as professionals and treat people with respect.

It's the exact opposite here in VA. State Troopers are fricking assholes, give me local cops any day of the week.

Well I won't give them a pass when they act like assholes, but I'll give them credit when it's due. And I think if they are nice to a dying kid- even if it's just for a day and it's all contrived- at least they did it. It's more than I've done in a day for a dying kid.

Of course, it's awesome they did that. This wouldn't happen in VA unless the Staties could give a ticket to the kid's grandma for not using her turn signal on the way to the hospital.
