If they can get them at the right price it's a great time

I don't know the details, but he bought a lemon, then put that car on display along the highway for all to see for more than a year, expressing his displeasure with the manufacturer.
Yeah, you couldn't miss it when going down 90.

New guy gets around

Multiple sources interviewed for this story, all of whom asked not to be identified, say there was a difference of opinion among family members about how the company should be allocating its resources, particularly as they related to expansion facilities. “The president and CEO was not following the board’s instructions on how to operate the company, and that board consists of family members,” one source says.

Earl Blackwell is now on Knight Oil Tools’ website as president and CEO. Blackwell’s most recent position appears to have been chief financial officer of Lafayette businessman Mike Moreno’s bankrupt Green Field Energy Services (Blackwell’s bio on Green Field’s old website also says he previously worked as managing director of Moody, Moreno & Rucks, a local private equity firm that invested in Green Field).

It seemed all of a sudden when they pushed Mark out earlier in the year. I didn't see this coming, though.

On March 2015, investigators established that the magnetic cases recovered from the undercarriage of Bryan Knight's vehicle were purchased by Knight Oil Tools at the request of Russell Manual, an employee who answered directly to the CEO Mark Knight (brother of Bryan Knight). Investigators compared images of the unique cases which are manufactured to house GPS tracking devices to the cases recovered during the arrest of Bryan Knight and found them to be identical to those purchased by the company. This information together with other electronic media, specifically e-mails and text messages, to and from Russell Manual's cell phone corroborated that Russell Manual participated in a scheme to place drugs on Bryan Knight's vehicle and to call law enforcement to arrange for the stop and arrest of Bryan Knight. Furthermore, two law enforcement officers were consulted to provide specific information intended to enhance the possibilities of Bryan Knight's unlawful arrest. Through statements of Russell Manual it was confirmed that Mark Knight did pay or arrange payment in excess of $100,000 in cash and gifts directly or indirectly to Jason Kinch, a Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Deputy assigned to Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force, Corey Jackson, a Louisiana State Trooper, and Russell Manual while acting as an agent of Knight Oil Tools in exchange for committing a conspiracy with the aforementioned and others to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute in violation of LA RS 40:967 (A) to have Bryan Knight unlawfully arrested and Corrupt Influencing in violation of LA RS 14:120 and that in combination with each other did in fact carry out the elements of each underlying criminal act as required by LA RS 15:1353 Racketeering.
That's fricking crazy.

He wasn't blasting GM, he was blasting the dealership. They couldn't fix the issue since they didn't have the proper techs trained to handle Caddys.

I wish I could remember what the sign said. They had it hanging at their old little office before they moved to the new complex.

Car was bought from JPT. From what I heard it was a finger pointing contest. Ole man knight said the car was doing something funny. JPT said everything was fine. Knight wanted a new car, but JPT gave him the finger. Knight put the car on a stand surrounded by giant lemons. Had a big sign that said "JP Thib Lemon" or something to that effect. Cadillac themselves came down and offered the ole man a new car. He said he wasn't taking the car/sign down unless JPT bought the car. Not sure how it got resolved.

Wish it would have been that annoying count at Moss Motors

Yeah, that's the story I remember. I think the sign went up around 2003ish. So close to, if not 15 years ago. I used to audit the store and the old controller there filled me in on what was happening.

Not to get into a pissing contest, but JPT didn't own the caddie dealership until Schoefler went out of business.
