When I was in my 20s id already had to deal with double digit deaths of friends. I'm the only surviving member of my first band, the girl I was with was killed in an accident, suicides, freak accidents, murders, etc. Plus I lost both the people who raised me.

Death is a motherfricker

Went to a better school than me, we've been doing it for a while.

Welcome to life. I love reading the young guys on here that have it all perfectly planned out after college. Life has its ups and downs all you can ask for is that the Ups outweigh the downs when its all said and done.

Just had a close friend pass on Memorial Weekend from a freak car accident. Still pretty torn up about, you're not alone in the way you feel.

By the time I graduated (95), I had been to 6 funerals for classmates. Since graduating, I have lost 4 more classmates/friends/girlfriend/younger cousin. I have also lost buddies from the USMC (96-00). It IS a part of life, but it really doesn't make it any easier to see your peers go at such young ages.

I graduated thirty years ago and hardly anyone in my class has died. We seem to be bulletproof. Not sure why.

I have lost many a classmates since then.It does fly by though. I'm grateful to still be here and thankful for what i have been given in life .

Absolutely true. And they look older faster, too.

I know what you mean. It seems live every few days I see somebody who I went to high school with has died. Imagine how my dad feels, though; he is the last surviving member of the Istrouma High Class of '38, and has his high school reunion every time he gets out of bed.

I had three in three months with one on my birthday. Not fun getting older in that respect. Other parts of life are pretty awesome.

Yeah i was in training today and was speaking to a young lady ,early to mid twenties(no pics), and she was telling me she was going to her friends wedding. I laughed and said awe your in the attending weddings part of your life.unfortunately burying classmates ,early in life, does not follow the norm but it is a part of life. Sorry for your loss.

I knew this young woman well. She worked for me and would baby-sit my girls when they were young.

I hope they fry the son-of-a-bitch.

To clarify: Louisiana people die young; not as much in other places.

Mrs. Mule is from West Virginia and her class mates have dropped like flies since we met. Drug use, car wrecks, murder, you name it. I think it's a product of the drug issues that seem to be getting worse in smaller, more rural areas and states. I haven't had many of my class mates from LA die.

Try being 85. It seems like every month, one of my grandmother's old friends dies. Of the women she grew up with, she's only one of a handful left.

Louisiana people who live elsewhere now. Have you noticed that more of your classmates from LA have died than your friends from where you live now?
