I've waiting to see you...i made a thread yesterday and your name came up a few times.

Nice. I haven't joxied in a while, and the search function is fricked these days anyway.

I saw that I guess on FB a day or two ago, and wasn't too happy about it. The good thing is that pics of spiders don't get me as much as in IRL.

I got bit by a wolf spider recently. It is slightly painful and will leave a mark for a couple days. It might be sensitive to the touch as well. It definitely shouldn't do anything more than annoy you.

Brown Recluses are tiny, tiny. Even counting their legs, most shouldn't approach an inch. Easiest ways to tell if recluse:

- Tiny hairs on abdomen/legs
- Legs have knobs at the joints
- Only 6 eyes in a triangular shape
- "Violin" on the torso
- The Torso is normally larger than the abdomen

Honestly, you will need a magnifying device to be able to identify one correctly.

Even then, the recluse gets confused for other spiders very often. I'm paranoid as hell of the little Fers (literally my only phobia, the widow species doesn't even bother me), and I've only seen one after capturing many spiders that initially fit the billing.

I had the girl who feeds tell me a few weeks ago there was a brown recluse in the garbage can I store the horse's feed in. The next night she called about a black widow. I emptied the can out, used a broom to brush off all the webs I could from the entire can (the multiple egg sacks under the lip were a bit harder to get) and drug it to the washrack to kill everything with high pressure water and bleach. EIGHT brown recluse abandoned ship, one carrying her eggs on her back. Scrubbed the whole thing with a wire brush then looked down to see a godamn black widow on my shoulder. Screamed like a bitch and stripped in the barn aisle. The whole way home I kept thinking I felt things crawling on me.

All those spiders died, and I'm usually a save spiders kind of girl.

If I am ever knowingly (like I physically see it) bitten by a spider, I will not handle that well at all.

And spare me the bullshite about how many spiders we eat in our sleep and all that.

Well luckily, after being so paranoid of recluses, it opened my eyes to how harmless all the other spiders are. Even black/brown widows aren't that bad. They will make you feel like crap, but nothing in the necrosis range unless people are ridiculously allergic to the venom.

The wolf spider thing was kind of funny. I told my GF I got bit by a spider on the leg. Knowing my phobia of recluses, she immediately dismissed it. About 5minutes later, we see the damn spider upside down next to my computer chair. These little bastards look so mean.

In law school, I went with a guy to his family's land where they had a bunch of tents and stuff for tailgating. It was way out in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, we opened up one of the garages and I've never seen so many black widows in my entire life. He acted like it was no big deal, grabbing chairs and tent bags. I kid you not, they were everywhere. I will never forget that day.

I always had spiders falling on me growing up messing around in the barn. Barns are the spider condo Mecca.

I have some american house spiders around the patio in my backyard. They look very much like brown widows and almost made me shite a brick when I first noticed them.

What is the best way to get rid of spiders outside in my landscape and inside my garage? I hear spraying for them doesn't do much and I have TONS of different varities of spiders around my house. So...any great ideas on how to kill mass quantities of these damn things before me or one of my kids get bit?

I had a spider that I let live on my patio. He was getting massive amounts of insects. Sadly he got too big. Had to end him.

Tons of sprays will actually cause a worse reaction oddly enough. They can turn the spiders crazy and aggressive, where as they normally don't give two craps what you are up to and want to avoid you at all costs. If you are that worried, I'd just go the exterminator route. My office mate had a brown widow infestation and he managed to curb that drastically.

Never heard of Talstar but reading the reviews online, it appears to work pretty well for most insects, but not many reviews mention spiders. Do you know from personal experience that it also eliminates spiders as well?
