Spinoff: Worse if they really existed: Vampires or Werewolves.

We will go with the most classic ways of killing each (stakes and decapitation for Vamps, silver for Werewolves). Werewolves scared the shite out of me as a kid but I think they would be easier to kill because of silver bullets. Vamps pretty much have to be killed using hand to hand combat. Also we are using anytime not just full moon werewolves.

I think vampires are classically portrayed as being more intelligent and werewolves as being more brutish and animalistic. It would probably be more difficult to completely destroy vampires.

Vampires really do exist. People ( fricked up ones) pay a lot of money to transform into them.

Vampires would be worse. IMO. They are smart.
Werewolves you only worry about on the full moon and remember to stay off the moors.

Vampires are civilized and moderate. They might kill one person every once in awhile whe it suits them.

Vampires. Werewolves only transform for a few hours a month, and you could keep tabs on them. Don't need to kill them, just lock them up the day of the full moon, keep them in lockdown through the night, and they come back 28 days later.
Vampires though would be a constant threat. They'd abduct us, harvest us for our blood, and then kill us. They'd be far more organized than Werewolves would be since their lives depend on it.

With Vampires, during the day you would be safe. Just stay inside at night. But as True Blood shows, not everyone is smart enough to do such things.

Then in that case, werewolves. A psychopath could show up in the middle of a bar, transform, and kill a shite ton of people. Vampires have to be more methodical than that.

In terms of random violence- werewolves because they could be anyone.
In terms of an actual threat Vampires- though I tend to think they'd be careful and pick off those with no support system. Immortality would be insanely dangerous it'd, not just physically- you have to figure most vampires would be freaking crazy rich simply because of compound interest.
