I'm staying at either the Crowne Plaza or the Hyatt Regency downtown so please keep recs within close proximity to these places. TIA

Haven't been yet, going next week, but you might want to checkout Axelrad

As stated in other thread. I'm over here. Looking to get shitty. I can't drive the work truck, but I am down to cab. Looking for a decent bar. This placed captain Benny's blows.

You're closest to the Washington area, go there.

I'm 36 so no clubs for me either. Preferably a nice chill place with a good assortment of craft beer.

Downtown Houston is fairly dead at night..it's not like most downtowns.

I like this place. Great beer selection and nice porch to bum around

If you're downtown and want good beer go to the flying saucer

Flying Saucer. More draft beer than you can stand.
SpringBok. A South African sports bar?? Weird, but damned good grub and decent (30 or so) draft beer selection and cocktails. Our bartender was ridiculously hot. So there's that.
Okra Charity Saloon. If you want to get your Don Draper on, this is a cool cocktail place.

I was in Houston a few weeks ago for a baseball tournament at Minute Maid and stayed downtown.
All my friends who live in Houston took me to zero bars that were in downtown and they were all young professionals. I can't remember the names of any places but everywhere we went seemed pretty packed of younger people nowhere near downtown.

Flying Saucer... SpringBok is next door. Better food there.

Screw downtown. The only people who go there think they're in Mad Men. Go midtown

Honestly not looking for anything fancy. Where do the rednecks hang out?

Midtown seems to be where I want to hang out? Any particular places that anyone is familiar with?

The people in Midtown can't afford to pretend they are in mad men....so they are pretending to be something else all together....
