Spinoff: Did you pass the drivers license eye test?

TBH, the last time I took one at the DMV the lady had to coach me through it, and the most recent one I renewed online.

No. My right eye is terrible so I slide my forehead across the bar and read the right side with my left eye. Been doing that for about 20+ years now, never been caught.

Glad I'm not the only one that cheats

I am very nearsighted. I wear glasses daily. Took the eye test at express omv without wearing my glasses. Passed. I shite you not.

I failed it once and had the "glasses" restriction put on my license. I must not have REALLY tried when I failed because when I renewed it a few years later, I took a little longer but made sure I got it. Restriction removed.

I was taking test and read the letters and lady asked "ok what about the other row" (or something like that). I saw nothing. So I quickly slid my left eye over and read the right side part and have been doing that ever since.

MS license and they haven't asked me to take an eye test since I got my license 20+ years ago.

I've been using reading glasses for a good while now. Last time I took the test, guessing about 4 years ago, I sat there for probably 8-10 seconds in a panic. The damn thing was dirty and greasy. Struggled like hell on the first few then the rest came into focus so I rattled them off quickly. Major sigh of relief.
Since then I got glasses with progressive lenses, but I only use them to read (and usually just default to my old reading glasses). I can see fine at distances - don't need the glasses. I celebrated when I got my renewal stuff in the mail a couple weeks ago and saw that I could do it online. Then I went online and found out that they are starting this "Real ID" crap, and the first time you have to do it at DMV. So I renewed online but realize I only get a temporary reprieve. No way I'll pass it without reading glasses.

I am straight up blind in my right eye. I tell them that, and they say "cool. Go down there and get your picture taken"

I'm 25 but I've had horrid eyesight my whole life.
I always listen to someone in front of me and write down the letters (or numbers in the case of the express DMV in BR) and memorize

I failed my first one when I was getting a learner's permit or my first license. I looked in the machine and read the letters as instructed. The tester was puzzled and he asked me to re-read the letters so I did. He couldn't believe it so he looked in the machine himself. Some joker took a small typewritten sign that said NO CHECKS ACCEPTED and put it in front of the normal chart and that's what I read. I passed after he removed the sign.

No, I have to wear corrective lenses. I was wearing contact lenses when I failed it, but they don't need to know that. I have since updated my prescription.

Jesus Christ... I hope all you frickers are using glasses when you drive. No wonder our insurance rates are so damned high in this state.
Really though, in my twenties I was looking at that thing thinking that being able to read these fricked up E, M (same E just pointed down), (backwards-E), and W (same E pointed up) has almost nothing to do with your ability to see to drive and even less to do with your ability to drive.
Side note: My dad failed his test one time because he didn't realize that you had to press your forehead against the device for the letters to appear. He told her he couldn't see anything. He got a angry bitch that was ready to go home and she failed him without explaining anything to him. He had to argue with a supervisor to get them to allow him to retake the test.

I passed every time except once. It was one of those headset ones and it was so greasy I couldn't see a thing. Nearly vomited with how nasty it was.
