As an ex-gf of mine once said, "You can't call me Mommy, but sometimes, I can call you Daddy".

I have a friend that calls his wife "Purdy Momma". I call mine Mammy cause I'm Pappy, to the grandkids.

So you whine on a message board about men whining on a message board?

Had a jewelry sales woman call me up to say my "bride" had been in the store and I could come by and see what she liked. It seemed like a cheap turn of words to endear me into buying jewelry, and turned me off completely. Ever since, I really hate the use of bride to mean wife.

If she is in fact a "mother' and in the presence of the the children, what's the problem?

Immediately thought of AC Slater too. Surprised we had to get to the second page of the thread for the mention.

Aint got no use for it -- but there have been a few times when I have said "Come to Daddy!"

What is wrong with that exactly?

I just find it odd. A guy I worked with always used it. I wonder if she goes around saying things like "let me ask my groom what he thinks ". After the wedding day it's wife as far as I'm concerned.
