Damn, hopefully the upper winds aren't too bad closer to launch time

Looks like upper level winds are going to scrub today's launch.

I think they filled this one up with a little more landing fuel.

Well I don't see how this could possibly be a bad thing.

24 hour recycle. Weather conditions forecast to be more favorable.

Looks like launch is a go for this evening. They will NOT be able to attempt the first stage landing though due to extreme weather in the Atlantic.

Sadly, though the deep space aspect of the mission is interesting, the stage landing was the only really must-see-TV aspect of the launch itself.

How can you have the technology/engineering to build something like this but you cant calculate fuel consumption properly?

I thought it was a problem with the hydraulics system, not that they ran out of fuel.

This mission was supposed to serve as the second test of the company's reusable Falcon 9, but SpaceX just announced that's no longer the case. The weather in the Atlantic Ocean is causing swells up to three stories high, and one of the autonomous drone ship's engines isn't functioning. Instead, SpaceX will perform a "soft landing," which means the rocket will splash down in the ocean and won't likely be recovered.
