LINK

Link to an article with an embedded video.

It's kind of remarkable that a company would put out a video of its failures. It's a cool video. The comments made me LOL.

SIAP. I searched and saw nothing.

That was great! Though it does tell you how much hard work and money go into getting these things to work.

That wasn't an explosion. It was a rapid unscheduled disassembly.

Pretty cool video. This is probably a dumb question, but why does it explode on contact when it tips over?

I can only guess. The fuel in these rockets does not require ignition, it is a two-part (or more) fuel that reacts by burning as soon as the two parts mix. The rocket is not built to survive a crash and when it does, all the fuel leaks out and mixes resulting in ignition of all of it (that's left) at once.

I was a welder out at Vandenburg Air Force base in California for Space X. We built the launch pad for the Falcon Heavy. The rocket is filled with liquid oxygen (no air in space so you have to bring your own) for combustion. So once the rocket tipped over, any spark and it goes BOOM!

The thing that separates guys like Elon Musk and other successful entrepreneurs is their tolerance for failure. They almost seek it.

Exactly, failure is part of the process not something you try to hide. The Monty Python music is a nice touch.

Apparently Elon edited the video himself, as you can tell from the humor in the captions
