It's never this simple. I highly doubt this won't be litigated to death
True but I imagine that policy was reviewed over and over by Sony and their attornies before any decisions were made.
As long as they make a good faith effort to release the film in some way and make money off of it I would bet they can collect.

Cool. Then this is pretty much the most they could do

Just looked and the Crackle app is on Xbone too.

Still not interested. It just looks too stupid.
This whole situation is bullshite. The North Koreans have denied doing this and many who know a lot about hacking have raised serious questions, like pointing out the hackers' use of a version of Korean that is banned in NK. Also, why would NK make terrorist threats and then deny they had anything to do with it?
Yet the government is absolutely sure that they are the culprits. The whole thing stinks.

But that's only a 42 million dollar loss, you can't count expected profits as a loss... can you? Do they?

Yea because it's shitty. It shows REALLY old TV shows and movies as well as some foreign shite you have never heard of.

And 5 random episodes of Seinfeld at any given time.
Eta: they have an original show that I watched the 1st season of and really liked, but I forgot to ever go back to the crackle app and watch the subsequent seasons.

Every so often they might get a movie I want to watch that isn't on Netflix. Like right now they have Step Brothers and both Fletch movies.

Did they give a date for the release?
I didn't see one mentioned in the article.
