I have a 100 ft rope leash that I use to play fetch with my dog outside since there is no gate in the field we use. I always take it out and place it right by the field rolled up carefully, after our walk we go and fetch for a little while.
Well while I was on my walk today somebody decided to pick up the leash, what kind of person does that?

Ask Deion how he got his "dog back".

Maybe there's a lesson for you about the leash.

Sounds like the premise for a hit country song.

At least your dog wasn't attached to it.

Not being a jerk but if it's not your property you play on why would you just leave the long line there? And also, how old is the dog? Unless he's a puppy that youre training you should be able to train him to stay at least 100'or less from you.

Well I've got a lovely young pup, that likes to play fetch,
I've taught him to speak and shake hands, and a frisbee he'll catch,
But I've got no fence so we just can't have fun on the lawn,
But I left my leash in a field, and now it is gone...

I have a servitude next to my house that I maintain and actually paid to have sod laid on the area so it looks good. Left my hose and sprinkler there so I could just turn the faucet on in the evenings to water the sod and it was taken by a constructon worker on the house next door.

His logic? It was left on the servitude and thus fair game.

I know a cop, let me call him and you won't have a need for a leash anymore

It's a leash, nOT a permanent line. He left it to go for a walk like we all leave shite at the Bea h when you go in the water. People think they can just pick stuff up when they know it doesn't belong to them these days. It is pathetic.

Perhaps, but that is a sad and shameful logic (unless this was some shitty rope that no one would think someone wants). If you know something doesn't belong to you, leave it be. Went through this whole discussion with a millenial co-worker recently and it really saddened me. Thought he could just take a Jambox from the gift table at a company event because it was unclaimed. Sad.
