I've been cooking for many that are stranded...

Gluten is a real problem for some...

And I have had a few request for religious reasons. .. No pork, vegan, etc...

My response. . I'm a lifeboat not a cruise ship.

We are doing our best but in times of need... Drink water and eat some cheese... if I had filet I'd serve it

I know a girl who legitimately has celiac disease. She can barely eat anything. Maybe they actually have a person or two who are the same way

Yes of course but I guarantee you there are mother frickers that claim they need to be gluten free and they don't, and they are taking the food away from people with celiac disease, an actual disease diagnosed by real GI doctors.

Just offer everyone a beer and some tacos and see who eats/drinks. That'll flush them out

No, but it's probably true.

Damn shame with kids today. Back in my day we'd ask for extra gluten on everything, builds character

My kid has celiac. Gluten prevents his body from absorbing any nutrients and he can't grow. Glad you frickers think it's funny and made up.

That said, be grateful for what you can get but those who think it's made up or take away food from those with a condition can go to hell.

I get the typical gluten free jokes, but there are actual people with celiac disease. My boss's daughter has an autoimmune disorder and has had anaphylaxis in response to wheat based foods.

While I still feel that most gluten free people are morons, I've become more sensitive to people with ACTUAL food allergies after we learned about my son's peanut and egg allergy the hard way.

Of course there are people with actual food allergies. But you and I know how many people do this out of personal choice and not medical need.

No one here is begrudging people with an actual condition.

But the vast majority of those that demand gluten-free to cater to their needs are just selfish.

It really sucks for people who have it that people who are on a fad diet are taking the only food they can eat without dying.

They are complete pieces of shite. Some people just can't stop thinking of themselves, to think of other people, that could be in even more dire situations.

There are 100 times as many people who ask me for gluten free potatoes than there are people who legit have celiacs.

Whatever, if they want to pay extra for nasty arse bread and pasta, not my problem.

I have a buddy that has gradually developed more and more "food allergies". He ate whatever the frick he wanted until he was like 28 with no problems, and now eats pretty much only rabbit food

It happens, I started to lose weight quickly about 8 years ago maybe. I thought nothing was wrong. Ended up going to the doctor and was diagnosed with Celiac.
Now if I had to go to a shelter I might be screwed food wise but I would still eat. I'd rather spend a little extra time in the shitter than starve to death.
