This is classic "crabs in a bucket" mentality in action. This is what Al Sharpton and this unnamed speaker in the above quote sound like to my ears. This is what those Black critics of people like this Black policeman, Ben Carson and Condi Rice sound like to me. Crabs in a bucket, dragging down all those who refuse to stay in their "bucket" of despair and instead, climb out and make something of themselves.

I'm assuming that you think I'm rationalizing/justifying. My parents were dirt arse poor depression kids with zero advantages or connections or anything other than the will to make a better life that propelled them to success. They came from generations of families that were far closer to being slaves than ever owning any. And my Dad helped many of his black associates get a foothold in the business world as well.
