No...what gets old is when a consumer, like myself, walks into a dealership and has to put up with all the red-tape bullshite that they put you through and their slimy tactics that they use to try to rape your arse..errrr..sell you a car. Like when you and they know damned good and well that the value of your trade is $10,500 and they offer you $7500 for it then act shocked when you call them out on it. THAT is what gets old.

I have ZERO sympathy for car salesmen in any situation, the one the OP mentioned included.

Are you shopping in BR? Sellers in gonzales usually prices their trucks at invoice minus holdback which is the best around. They are the largest volume dealer in the area and can afford to do that. If you are looking at BH's you should be able to get about 10k off sticker with all the rebates. What features are you looking for that are hard to find?

Yep. Salesman, for the most part make their living off the sale of used vehicles vs new vehicles. Most new car deals are mini deals where as used car deals the salesman gets around 35% commission.

Also many customers lie about their trade like "I change the oil myself every 3500 miles"... Yeah, right.
If you want top dollar for your trade, keep your service receipts/records if you have service work done somewhere other than a dealership and produce them when it comes time to talk about your vehicles value.

So it's the 3.92 that's making it hard. What are you towing?

I've been dealing with that bullshite for a while now, and at this point, I'll never buy or sell another vehicle to/from a dealership. I just sold a Tahoe to this woman. I wanted $9000, she hit me with $8000, and I said $8500 or I'll go home. She said good, we went and signed the paperwork, handed over the cash, and the whole transaction(minus the test drive) took about 15 minutes. It is way too easy doing private party, you make more money on the sale and buy for less, and don't have to deal with arrogant POS salesmen and their stupid textbook tactics

The problem is NO ONE around here has the truck I want in the specs i want. Regardless of where I went to they would have had to do a dealer trade

A true OT Baller would put a $5k deposit and have one ordered to his exact specs.

Nice

Stick to your guns, no matter how many salesmen tell you how to spend your money.

The salesperson screwed this up early. Should have never negotiated a price without a commitment.

What does this mean? I must be misunderstanding. It sounds like you are saying the buyer must commit to buying from you before he knows the price? I'm not committing to anything until I know my final out the door price.

And I'm not talking about that little random piece of paper they put in front of you when offers are made. Until official paperwork is signed if I find a better deal or a better vehicle for the money I'm going to that one. Think the dealership wouldn't sell the vehicle they had "locked down" for you if someone came in and wanted THAT specific one? Hell no, some excuse would have came up why the truck isn't available.

In OP case I'd definitely post the reviews of dealer 1's attitude so people know how he was treated. Everywhere I could make it known I would.

Is that a long time to spend when buying a car?

Why would you have to bring your car there for service? I bought my vehicles out if town and bring them to the in-town dealer for service. In town dealer gave me a shitty price on both vehicles before I bought elsewhere

That is why you should know better than to get what your vehicle is worth while doing a trade-in.

It's a long time for him based on the small commission he's gonna make on you

He was probably having a rough day and took it out on the OP as well

I've used the multiple dealer strategy before and I know they hate it, but few of them will refuse to participate
