Or did a couple of people just decide to strap on some guns tonight and start picking off cops?

Hard to believe this was this well-conceived in the last 48 hours.

Well no one knew more than a couple of days ago that this event was going to occur, and if you have the weapons, all you have to know is the route.

From the small amount of video that's been released, I don't know that this specific incident was planned much in advance. I do think they've had some sort of basic military training, especially after seeing the 'pillar' video.

If the rally was planned yesterday, I'm even more confused to when they planned this. The police was even involved in the planning of the route.

Could've had it planned for years without a specific date.
Just waiting for the right situation.

Just crazy they were able to get a large arsenal of guns & ammo into those large public buildings and triangulate an attack

Like the San Bernardino shooter. He had been preparing for months or longer. but indications are he didn't decide to take action until that day.

The latter. This wasn't a great target honestly. Every cop is out and on high alert. It's not exactly the ideal day to go a-cop-hunting.

It turned out well for them, but I don't see how.

This was passion and opportunity.

Calculating would be something like picking off one or two and waiting for the parade funeral, taking a spot, and "executing" as many police as possible with a reduced chance of casualties.

It was a parking garage. All they needed was a car.

BLM protest are common in every city now. They could have scouted previous protest and just sat back and waited for the next one.

This wasn't as complex as some people are making it to be.

Do you guys think this was performed by Dallas natives waiting for the right time to strike? It seem odd to chose Dallas of all places.

Exactly.

It's not like they had to gain access into some secure building. They walked into a parking garage.
