I was just throwing out a likely scenario if it was planned. More than likely it was spontaneous though

It was an idea just waiting for an opportunity. Actual planning went on as soon as protests were announced.

I think this was something planned well in advance...but waiting for "the right situation" to put in action.

these frickers probably had been preparing to do something for a while now.

the protest simply gave them the cover that gave them the opportunity to attempt it.

if the protest had not happened they would have waited for another event that would have brought a lot of cops out.
