He said two people so add a couple drinks, popcorn, and/or candy and you're creeping on 50 bucks.
I consider concessions separate. They've always marked up snacks.

You might but we don't know if he does.

Ipic (upscale movie theater)costs $25 a ticket for their premier seats.
Huge plush leather recliners with included popcorn, blanket, pillow, and included valet parking. Also you get waiter service.
That's not a typical movie theater. You're paying additional with the expectation of added amenities. Not that I have a problem with that though. I would gladly pay $50 for two to get all that.

It's very nice for a date night. We went last night to see IT. I paid $50 for the tickets. Husband paid for our food and drinks (our tab was over $100 plus tip for that). But that included drinks at the bar there before the movie and entrees and wine flights during the movie.

I want to see IT. My girlfriend doesn't like horror movies so I'm going to have to wait to see that one. Was it any good?
I've been to the Movie Tavern a few times, but my girlfriend's mom usually treats us to that whenever she's in town. I just started a new job so hopefully I'll be making more trips there.
Movie Tavern has pretty much everything you described. A bar, waiters, big arse recliners, the whole nine. I especially love that there are no kids with the exception of a few teens on dates. Which is fine. They just hang out in the back and grope each other silently.

What cracks me up is this is catalog shopping from the 40s-70s. Online shopping is the current trend. Malls became trendy in the 80s until online catalog shopping came back in vogue. Millinials never knew of catalog shopping before the Web. Everything goes in cycles.

Are we still not a 100% online consumer base?

yet we hear how malls are a dying breed.

So blacks can walk around holding their dicks?
Posted on 9/9/17 at 1:27 pm to northshorebamaman
It's easy to drop $100 at the Movie Tavern if you drink booze and eat

anyone who says "blacks" i can gurantee you isn't getting any trim from anyone

What should he call them? African Americans? That's one of the dumbest pc terms used today. A white guy from Johannesburg that's an American citizen is technically an African American.

Go by yourself then. I enjoyed it and was glad to see it on the big screen. Wasn't the "scariest movie ever!"....but if you read the book or saw the miniseries....you will like the movie.
One if the kids from Stranger Things is in it and he is awesome.

I've got a lot of nostalgia when it comes to malls. Used to be a big event when we were kids, especially around the holidays. Used to drive over to the "big" malls in Houston from Beaumont.
MoL used to do a big todo around Christmas when santa arrived, don't think they do that anymore. I'm probably one of the few insane people that actually enjoy being in a mall the day after Thanksgiving just soaking up the season (and people watching.)
I know this is decidedly not OT cool, but it sucks to see malls become what they have. Like another poster said everything is cyclic, and I'll bet eventually they'll come back around.
