TBH, that probably works just as well for the demographic they're trying to appeal to. The untrained person who wants to get in shape but is intimidated by traditional gym culture. Someone who's never worked out before will improve no matter what they do. A lot of them will drop out, some will be satisfied at that level, and a few will get serious about it and look for a better facility.

24 hour fitness. Definitely hit or miss (been in some shitty ones), but the ones in the woodlands are nice, and the ones by my offices are more than acceptable. I pretty much just use them for the pool and treadmills right now. It's nice to swim at lunch and not have to worry about overheating and sweating. For 29 bucks a month, it's a steal.

I'm at anytime, not really a fan of it but since I'm in school and go back and forth from Louisiana and Arkansas its convient.
My buddy manages a snap and he said it is geared more towards 35+ year old women. Many don't have squat racks.
If you're looking to get stronger or add muscle join anytime, if you want to lose weight or just want a gym for cardio go with snap.

I see things differently. You have to anticipate what's going to happen on da field.

I used to do 100 push-ups and 50 sit-ups everyday back a few years ago... Just stopped for some reason... Never been a member of a health club... I may give it a try once I am cleared for work................

Eh, it's cheap and 24 hours. My Y was awesome but the hours just sucked. Planet Fitness works for me.

Sabi, explain the lunk alarm and its use. Also, do you have an example of a personal experience with it?

I'm having the same conflict as you. I am trying to decide between the anytime in pville on airline or one by snos seafood or one of the snaps near the same areas. While I'm in BR or other out of town areas working will be using them instead.

My wife goes to the planet fitness in Gonzales and says she has never heard the lunk alarm go off while she is there and says there are some big guys in there throwing around some heavy weights moaning and groaning.

All clear on the high rise just a little slowing down between the Louisa's. River bound expressway all clear, patchy delay on the twinspans
