People that have kids and don't want them are pathetic. Personally, I don't like or want kids, but I have the decency to not have them.

Abstinence only education was probably a bigger factor. Cutting off federal funding to that shite is one of the few things Obama has done that everyone should agree with.

I guess it's still better than parents back in Roman times selling their children into slavery

Well would you rather them be raised by their drug-addicted mothers? Or a mother that hates him/her? Or would you rather them be given to a loving household that could give em a better life?

Sure, you'd like to see people start taking more personal responsibility which seems to be nonexistent in our culture. But that takes time.

Are orphans new to you? Because they have always been around, and not just because their parents died.

what pisses me off, is that there are a shite load of American kids that can be adopted, and we have people adopting Asians, Africans, and Central Americans, because Hollywood dildos want u to think its cool.

From what I hear it is very hard, and takes years to adopt in America. Most say that they feel like they are in a contest being judged by their wealth, and race.

For most orphans under two years old there is competition to adopt them. One of the largest problems with adopting in America is the birthparents relinquishing their rights to parent even after the orphan is adopted.

A couple might struggle for years with fertility treatments, then more years trying to qualify for adoption just to get their baby taken away by the birthparents.

What is even worse is when a family fosters children and then druggie mom gets "clean" Judge gives her the kids back . Of course mom can't handle it and goes back to drugs or tricking. Now the foster parents are fostering another child or can't handle kids getting taken from them and the druggie's kids are up shite creek.

Stories from my grandparents and great grandparents before they died negate your anecdote that this is a recent phenomenon

Keep on voting Democrat. This wouldn't happen nearly as frequently if it wasn't an option.

It is expensive as hell to adopt. Average is 20-50K(some states you can adopt much cheaper if you adopt a child within the foster care system). That is NOT guaranteed. You hear stories about couples shelling out thousands of dollars to adopt a baby here in the U.S.....and the birthmom changes their mind at the last minute. Leaving the couple without a baby and out the $$$$ they had already paid for attorney fees, adoption fees, etc. There is no refund for something like that.

International adoptions are less red tape, still expensive, but the couple is less likely to get screwed over by the birth parents. Those couples are adopting true orphans with NO living parents to contest the adoption. Also...an orphan in the U.S. not adopted might be stuck in foster care system...but won't starve to death. Orphans in some countries in the world that are not adopted....could actually starve to death. So the couple is literally saving that child's life by adopting them.

I don't think there is one answer to this. With the growing addiction problem, once someone becomes addicted their first priority becomes their next hit. But the addiction situation isn't anything new, it started to become a bigger problem when crack hit the scene in the 80s.

Parenting has changed over the years and parents have been likely to do a lot more for their kids than in the past. And when kids get in trouble, in the parents eyes, its usually someone else's fault, etc so they raise kids who become more entitled.. So now, when people have kids at a younger age (teenagers, early 20s), the grandparents are doing what they have always done, take care of everything that involves their kid.

I feel ya. Cost me $15K for my first child and right at $40K for my second. Yet these fricktards can't spend $1.50 for a condom to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.

It's because society is turning away from Christianity, but nobody wants to hear that.
