Not yet, maybe when they drop boot camps from the military.

I guess if you cut pledging and just hand pick guys you think fit your fraternity and initiate them, then you can haze away since they will already be members.

I don't understand how someone can make you their bitch and then you be friends with them afterwards.

There's good hazing and bad hazing. Good hazing builds character and a sense of togetherness and achievement.

SAE is one of the best fraternities in a lot of schools not called LSU.

Ole Miss, Bama, and UGA for instance.

Can't wait to rub this in my SAE alum friends' faces from those 3 schools

True, but since you can't haze pledges anymore you need some sort of culling mechanism and I guess it's easier to go ahead and initiate them and then start the process.

I would not give any new active ritual info until they were at least a year in.

My future bro in law is a SAE at Bama. I just texted him and he had no idea this was happening.

Plenty of that in the USMC. Finest fraternity in the world that even lets females in.

Hazing was necessary to knock me and all my pledge brothers down a peg or two.

We all came in to college thinking we were kings and needed that reality check.

Most fun I never want to have again, but I wouldn't trade that experience in for anything. Helped me grow up A LOT and very quickly.

I wonder if this will actually take affect at a lot of chapters..if they'll just pay lip service to it and induct the members right away - and haze them once they are 'in.'

Been waiting for this to happen. We stayed in trouble for years at LSU, not to mention a shitload of other chapters.

Can do a membership quality board during a preliminary membership consideration process that lasts all semester.

THIS. I was hazed and then got to haze...if you want to rely on someone you got to know there true caricature and what we did brought that out. Cant say im surprised but I disagree with it completely!

If you are going to do that, make it a year at least. The only issue with all of this is you are going to be giving up your initiation process to potentially a bunch of jake legs. Better be real picky on your selection process during rush.
