Sidewalk etiquette when running

I run into this issue all the time...no pun intended.
Here is the scenario:
The sidewalk is wide enough for two people to run/walk side by side,
Guy (Me) is running towards two women. When we meet, I always have to step off of the sidewalk as I pass them, mostly into dirt and mud. The women see me coming towards them and never move into single file so everyone can stay on the sidewalk. Why do I always have to get off the sidewalk because my parents raised a gentleman? Should I be a dick next time and just bump into them.

They aren't being rude. Women are oblivious to the world around them.

just red rover the shite outta them

I'd probably just bump into them. I don't run, but I walk a lot on sidewalks, and they do the same fricking thing when they see someone walking the opposite direction too.

I do the same thing you do
It's not really a big deal
It does piss me off when I wave and people don't wave back

He isn't on a bike.
Run on the sidewalk and make them move.

Just yell out real loud, 'ON YOUR LEFT!!!!!!' as you approach them even if they aren't in your way.

Yes.
If someone is going to be such an a-hole that they refuse to simply NOT walk side by side on a sidewalk that can only accommodate two people across forcing you to get off said sidewalk to pass, then frick them. This is the case regardless of sex, or running. Not a runner, but when this look like it's going to happen I always stay in my lane and force whoever it is to move. I'm not jumping off a idewalk because some a-hole refuses to move over behind their partner for two seconds so others can pass where they should be able to.
Call it a life lesson that maybe you'll be teaching them.

Bro. The sidewalk ettiquette is one of my biggest pet peeves.
The chicks should give you room to run by them, period, end of discussion.
This scenario happens almost weekly. I am walking down the sidewalk and a group of 3 or 4 are approaching and they dont move! Wtf?
Now for you runners and bikers. When i am walking and your are behind me and get pissed because I am in your way, well piss off would ya.

Just start screaming "ON YOUR RIGHT!"

shite like this pisses me off to no end.
Assuming you're on the right side of the sidewalk you stay in your lane and keep going straight into her path...she'll move.

it's called a side walk. not a side run.

Don't run into them, but graze one just enough so the sweat from your arm rubs off on them. That's one of my favorite tricks.

When you see this happening, just come to a complete stop about 5 feet from them and stand on the sidewalk. They will move and get the hint for next time.

I already have to avoid pot holes, I don't want to avoid shitty weekend marathoners.

You run in the neutral ground toward the oncoming streetcar on the way out and just switch sides coming home.
