I lease 1200 acres it north Louisiana. It's has nothing on our south Texas place.

I sit in the stand 2 hours and see 50 deer in Texas.

There's great hunting along the Mississippi but it's not Texas. Some people like it better so I can't fault them for that, there's no "woods" in south Texas where we hunt.

and Shreveport is full of Cowboys fans, according to this board. so that may be the best choice for me, being from Texas. however, I have heard there are a lot of swinger weirdos, which kind of worries me.

To be fair, he said lake chuck was an hour closer to texas than lafayette for deer. Had he said southwest texas deer, i would have been quiet. Driving tan extra hour to southwest texas shouldnt make a difference. Thats like arguring driving to destin or sandestin time wise.

This board and many others also consider Lake Charles to be southeast Texas (just as many cajuns as anywhere else), and there are alot of cowboys fans there too.

Lake Charles really has improved its overall lot in the past few years, compared to Lafayette. It still has a ways to go, but at least its growing like crazy, so that should help.

Lafayette has friendlier people, more fun things to do and prettier women, but Lake Charles' biggest asset has always been its proximity to the great outdoors.

The convenience to fresh/salt water fishing and all kinds of hunting is hard to beat anywhere. Lafayette has some of that with the basin and the bay, but they're not as easy to get to and not as productive, either.

Lake Charles sounds like it wins in fishing, but with Shreveports hunting and proximity to Dallas (I'm a rangers fun but guess I wouldnt mind seeing the astros play the rangers and braves if I lived in LC) its a hard choice to make. probably just gonna have to see which people I like more.
