I mean, I get it-and I don't necessarily feel sorry for them, but I just feel like this is a weird interpretation of a murder charge that I have never seen.

Sounds more accurate. No they shouldn't be charged with murder. That's a nonsensical law designed to appease someone. Charge them for the crime committed.

Felony murder has been on the books for forever in Florida. Not a new concept.

I have no problem with this, but by this logic, wouldn't the prosecutor also have to charge the deceased for his own murder?

Sounds odd, but whatever. Don't break into people's house.

Are they dumb?
Yes

Should they be in trouble?
Yes

Did they murder someone?
No

Should they be charged w murder?
No way in my opinion

Didn't cam newton break into apartments and steal laptops? Only difference here is the homeowner shot one of the kids. The three being charged w murder did literally the exact same thing a heisman trophy winner did who is getting paid millions in the NFL: They broke into a someone else's place...

No... Bought a stolen laptop.

But Cam did break into your head and steal a spot in it because 4 years later and you still mad!

Just making an analogy that breaking and entering is not murder. Had the man not been home and shot one of them it would just be another break in. Not saying cam deserves anything more than he got

Edit: I stand corrected on Newton then lol. Plenty of lsu players have done same thing just used newton because he is a big name guy. I have no ill will towards him. Just trying to say I think them being charged with murder is ridiculous

Felony murder has been on the books forever. Remember when they were discussing charging mike browns friend with it? Imagine those riots.

If you wave a gun around and it discharges inadvertently and kills someone, you get charged.

If you wave the same gun around and it doesn't, you don't.

That's the analogy. Cam breaking into someone's room is not the same thing because it didn't lead to someone's death. I don't necessarily think I would apply this to all robberies but I not going to lose sleep if these guys all get convicted.

No. Robbing words like "murder" of their meaning is a bad bad thing.

It's like no one here has ever heard of felony murder before.

I would surmise these geniuses are probably posting long diatribes on Facebook about the Brown, Gardner, and Rice cases without knowing a single thing about the actual law.

It's on the books in some form in 46 states.

My analogy was simply two groups (I stand corrected that Newton did not) both broke into a private residence. One group the homeowner shot one of them, the other group there was no one inside. Did the two groups not commit the exact same crime with the same intent?
These kids being charged with murder is just wrong in my opinion, are they harder criminals bc someone happened to be home?

Obviously if they attacked or injured the homeowner it would be different. They did not kill their friend tho

Where are you dunces getting that Cam broke into anything? Just because he physically stole Patrick Petersons manhood on that 50 yard TD run doesn't mean he physically stole anything else.

This is about a Faulkner University football player. You LSU fans are looking sad coming in here with Cam Newton revisionist history

I was under the impression newton stole a laptop from an apartment at UF. I asked and I was corrected. I don't see what this has to do with "lsu fans" being butt hurt over Newton. I don't mind him at all just trying to make a high profile analogy of breaking and entering

Exactly!

This whole phenomenom of interpreting what constitutes being an "accessory" to a murder is a recent development. This was not done more than 10 years ago. It is the Prosecutor trying to grandstand by doing this...and that office should be disciplined for the breach office...maybe to include horsewhipping of the pussy motherfrickers.

You read statistics that the US has something like 25% of the entire worlds prison population and you wonder how that could happen...this is how it happens...when you let cheap, petty punks like this Prosecutors office get away with shite like this.

Why would anyone know or care what felony murder is unless they worked in or were a part of the criminal justice system?

Calm down fanboy. I'm using the example that was given. IDGAF what your boyfriend did or didn't do.
