I drove by there on my way to work. I saw no sign posted saying that the intersection is monitored. Thought the new law suggests that there need to be a visible sign

Or you can just not run red lights and not worry about it?

Shouldn't need a sign. Don't have signs posted everywhere a cop is hiding out radaring. Drive right or suffer consequences.

Yes and banks should have signs that say "DO NOT ROB".

There are two cops with radar guns hiding on Highland where it runs through campus. There's your sign

I would say putting up the sign would defeat the purpose, but on the other hand, since the purpose is to reduce wrecks that happen as a result of people running red lights, the camera takes the picture after the fact, in which case an accident can still happen, so putting up a sign will make drivers aware, that if they are thinking about running it, they will get a ticket and in theory, they will decide not to run it.

I agree with you. It's the same as the signs that say "strictly enforced" or "radar monitored." Drivers may change their behavior if they think they won't get away with crappy driving.

If you pay the fine then you should wear a sign saying "I'm a sucker"

There have been signs at that intersection as in the past. It was and may still be the law. Some intersections lost the cameras. Not sure if that intersection was on the list, doesn't seem like it should be. Might not be active cameras though. Run the light and report back in 4-6 weeks.

Just don't pay it. They can't do anything. I got a sent a notice...then a second notice...then nothing.

There was an article on advocate saying only 40% pay it. Even had metro council members quoted that "it is a cash grab and don't pay it"

It'll pop up when it's time to renew the driver's license.

bullshite. Let's say your driving up to the light at a HWY going 45mph and it turns yellow at the worst possible time. What do you do? Slam the brakes or the gas?

Maybe you slam the brakes and cause a wreck as the guy behind you was planning to go. Maybe you hit the gas but the camera busts you as it snaps the picture in the millisecond that the light turns red.

Are you telling me that it's risky to cross thru the intersection while the yellow on the light is still fading out?

These cameras are an invasion of privacy and our rights Americans.
