I've given my card out to people to use the free play money. . . it expires, so if I have no intention of using it before it does, I am not losing anything.
I usually hand them the card and pin # and tell them if they win big, double my contribution and they can keep the rest. Now, it's never happened that they have won (or at least I never heard about it!), but had they been in a situation such as yours, there is no way I would take $550 from my friend . . . hell, I would be content with just turning the $25 free play into $25 in cash!
I highly doubt your friend will be expecting half of your winnings. Sure, talk to him about it and see what he thinks- even give him half if that is what you decide. But I would be very surprised if he takes it.

i do the same thing. if im not gonna use it and someone i know is going i just give them my card. and i DONT expect anything in return no matter how much they win off of it

so you used someone else's money and hit the jackpot on that draw or over time and you used more money.
if you hit it on his money, pay the man or you are a dishonest person.

Your luck won the money. I would give him like 250 bucks, he should be cool with that since if he would have played the money he might not have won anything. But if he disagrees than you can negotiate up split it in half. He shouldn't get more than half of the winnings though.
