I am driving from NWLA to Mobile tomorrow. Looks like that will be fun.

I wonder how bad it will be early Wednesday morning. My husband is supposed to drive from Biloxi to Pensacola at 5am.

Damn

A "moderate risk" is only issued across the nation a few times per year, and even less often along the Gulf Coast.
A "moderate risk" indicates that long, widespread, and intense storms are possible. These include widespread damaging wind, hail, and tornadoes; some of which may be strong.

Per @NWSNewOrleans: last "moderate risk" of severe weather for the #BatonRouge area... Christmas 2012.

Man, when I was young, this kind of stuff would actually excite me. Now, it scares the shite out of me.

Greatest risk is afternoon but could start as early as 10am

Their category names are misleading as hell. If you see Moderate, think "oh shite," and if it's High, you'd better be getting your affairs in order.

BR is enhanced, not moderate.

Yeah. I've never seen a day that had a Moderate zone in the forecast not have at least one significant tornado and usually multiple.

That is the damn truth. I used to think hurricanes were fun when I was a kid. Then when I owned a house in Florida and a hurricane was coming, suddenly it was no joke anymore.

Yeah, close enough. That zone isn't accurate enough for me to not worry about it.
