Maybe you need more of what she has?

Let's be honest. You're buying drugs, aren't you?

I'm sure she is getting help from her church.

Find out what she needs and go get it for her. Don't give cash if she's still using.

Just remember that your gift can't have strings attached...she is not suddenly going to change and start making smart decisions (even though you really want her to).

Look guys I'm not good at this grammar thing but I'm dead serious about the situation. I'm not trolling at all either. I knew I would get crazy responses and it's ok. my household income is about 185k. I was thinking about giving her a grand just to make me feel better. I'm really lost

Yeah, $1,000 plus some Walmart gift cards. (But let her know that Walmart is out of Christmas candy. No reason for her to search needlessly.)

I never thought of gift cards, that's a great idea! Thanks

Cash is just going to her habit. Idk dude. She's your sister but she sounds like a lost cause. Give her some gift cards and just hope for the best.

I honestly wouldn't do gift cards either, I'd call her up and offer to buy her a new bed or something specific.

Was she renting or own a house? If she owned she should of had insurance right?

Does she still do drugs? While gift cards are a good idea and much better than cash, there's still plenty of ways to turn them into cash. If you buy her something specific like a bed she needs at least she'll have to think real hard about having to sleep on the floor.

I think I would buy her stuff to replace what was burned, not just give money, especially if she's still using/not responsible with money. Surely she had some kind of insurance that will help out with possessions and contents of the house? Good luck- I have an estranged sister and another sister who died 5 years ago- needless to say, the family dynamic is less than perfect these days. :Merrychristmas:

Yea I believe she is doing better. Believe Me I was no saint either but I realized I had to do better. Our parents are gone and I was raised to always look out for my sisters. I have done better than anyone in my family has done. I really think she would do ok with just cash but t she is soooooo good at manipulation you really don't ever know. I really just want to do what's right with the man upstairs

Has she reached out to you? Did she own the house, she should have insurance?

You could reach out to her and see if she needs anything.

I'm sure she (and her guy for at least the last 10 years or so) rents. These aren't the type that would have insurance. My sister does not work( she n mental disability) and not sure what her man does. I just really feel guilty not doing anything
