If you're a moral person, you should take responsibility for your actions.
It's easy in todays society to scoff at standing up and taking responsibility for your actions, accident or not.
Stand up and do the right thing - it's not difficult. Its one of those times when a man's character can actually be purchased - for the right reason.

Was it completely destroyed. Can it not be repaired. If it can be repaired, at most, you are responsible for repairing it, not the purchase of a brand new phone.

Damn, already 4 pages and still no pic. Depending on where she rates, advice could change.

You don't owe her anything.

She handed her phone over to a person in a bar where it is known people will be intoxicated.
You don't have to pay shite
And you weren't of sound mind when you made the verbal agreement

This thread would be a good topic for the Scoot show, weekdays from 1-4, on the Big 870, WWL, and 105.3 FM

She would have to get estimates on what it would cost to get the screen replaced, or a new phone if she can prove the damage warrants a new device entirely.
She would have to obtain witness affidavits that you dropped the phone, unless you stupidly admitted it in writing.
She would have to file suit in small claims court and serve you.
If she has all the above and you didn't make an appearance (you sound dumb, so you won't), then she will get a default judgment that she can attempt to collect from you.
If you were any kind of man and knew you were responsible for a new screen, you would pay this woman what you owe her. Fortunately for me, the world has plenty of dips hits/bums that keep attorneys in business.

You should sue Pat Os or whatever alcohol company and blame them for not warning you that you may drop an iPhone when you are drunk.
This isn't your fault.

Apple will replace the screen for $129 MAX.

I don't think that you're legally responsible for replacing her phone.
That said, stop being an a-hole. You should always replace/fix other people's property when you frick it up

Tell her to hire a lawyer. She handed you the phone.
Her fault for not having a phone case.

Have you considered slicing her throat?
Posted on 6/15/16 at 1:06 pm to Paul Allen
Get her a gift card to an iPhone repair place. If the screen's all that is broke, then it should only be like $80-$100. Much better than $800 and you made an effort to rectify the situation.

I am now being threatened with a lawsuit since its been, what she calls "a considerable amount of time", and she still hasn't received any money for the phone.
she isn't going to take you to court for $800

Tell her you passed away.
