Yeah, I won't see Pearl Jam or Mystikal, or whatever, but there is some damn good music.

It's extremely well organized. All of downtown Lafayette is involved. The weather is perfect. Beautiful ladies errywhere. Wider variety of food than NOJF. Kids dancing in the fountains.

It's free, and there are no fences.

The porta potty's are clean.

The entire community spreads it's wings. No other town in LA could pull it off.

Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!!!!!

Festival international has always been one of my favorite festivals anywhere. I would always leave Nola during jazz fest to attend.

A few times, my uncle figured out which hotel the musicians were staying. We'd go up there after the bars closed. I ended up playing music by the pools until 5-6 in the morning. Without a doubt, the most eclectic jam I've ever played. We'd be switching between Django tunes and Buena Vista Social Club songs, and damn near everything in between.

Sorry baws, no Freebird.

This....it is well organized but the music is way overrated. A bunch of eclectic hippy shite for the most part with some bleh jazz and "Cajun" music mixed in.

Including all the restaurants open and serving, besides the dozens of booths, its not even close.

I can sit in the bar at Pamplona eating Tapas with top shelf bar cocktails, with 2 stages within a 9 iron.

Don't get me wrong, I love JazzFest, but it can't match that and the ease of access.

How else would you describe a 4 am poolside jam with musicians from three continents, and probably speaking 4-5 different languages?

We saw the Waifs at FI about 10 years ago. Probably the best show I've seen at the festival, except maybe Buddy Guy playing in the rain.

They are a must see. I'll be there tonight. Tell me about this other band.

They are an all-girl (or mostly-girl) band from Montreal. I saw them at The Grouse Room a few months ago for the Fest Int kick off party. Met them after their performance and got the CD. Cool chicks who play groovy music. Check them out.

Anyone that'll be there tomorrow, check out Vishten. They're a really cool traditional accadian band from Nova Scotia. It's like a blend of French and Celtic music, that's fun and funky. Y'all baws should check out what you'd be listening to if you stayed in Canada.
