i am sure there are other life forms but not as high intelligence as us. I think we are the anomaly.

I am confused by this as a possibility.
How would that work?
Would it impact gravity on the planet?
What about orbits?
would the encapsulating structure rotate?
How would it not be pulled into the star it was surrounding?
would it impact other planet/moons within the solar system but beyond the exterior of the structure?
wouldn't the structure itself take a tremendous pounding from asteroids and space debris that would normally burn up entering our atmosphere?
Not trying to be a smartass...those are just some legitmate questions off the top of my head.

You're asking questions we just aren't smart enough to even comprehend much less answer.
To get to that point in civilization you'd have to have an understanding of physics that is well beyond anything we know and might even debunk some of the things we think we know. You'd probably also need raw materials that we don't have on earth, or don't know about yet even if we did have them.

Dyson spheres are basically loose nets/objects in orbit.. and there isn't that much stuff in space.
