If someone really wanted to they could probably hang the towels out in the sun and alternate them every other day so bacteria could not build up in them.

I'll use mine about 5-6 times. Its only cleaning clean water off my clean body. I don't floss my arse with it

I soak in a bubble bath for awhile, then I pull the plug and when the water gets low enough I stand up and take a normal shower.
