People with violent crimes won't be as readily allowed to plea the charges down because the jails are near capacity.

Go hang out in New Orleans criminal court and see what violent charges get little to no time in prison.

OP was in a car with his sis and heard gunshots, came upon murder victim and their child. With murder victim when he died. Came here to share. A few posters think they're really funny with witty responses. The usual Friday night.

The jails aren't the problem.
The people, the culture, the attitude...that is the problem. Until you attack the cancer, excise it from the body, it will only spread.

to everyone who's offering their support, i say thank you. even though we don't know eachother and give each other hell about stuff, i really do feel the care from you all.

yeah, thugs are going to thug. but its still someone's child, husband, brother, father that just got killed. at the end day, someone lost someone.

pray for the victim, good or bad, no one deserves to die that way.

What happened to the poor little girl? I know she's got to be pretty traumatized after seeing her daddy gunned down right next to her.

That's what I said in my first post. But, those infected are beyond redemption and should be removed from civil society at the first conviction for a violent crime. "Excise" them to prison/jail where they belong.

According to the OP, she was freaking out and screaming. That's the primary reason the OP stopped, to go to the daughter.

There are plenty of people out there that need killing. The herd is in dire need of culling, but the wolves are too few, having been turned to dogs with promises of scraps from the master's table.

Please take my advice and actually go talk to a professional. You may not realize it tonight but what you saw will effect you in the future. Seeing what you saw stays with a person.

Who are the "wolves" you speak of that need to go out killing the herd? And who is the master?

You don't get it. The infection has spread so far it is in the roots. It is part of a cultural identity. Until you destroy that concept, (and that may be impossible) the cancer will ravage and spread until everything is dead.

It's societal distillation. You are looking at the bottom of the pressure cooker.
