Jerry Sandusky's adopted son today said that he too was a victim of sexual molestation.
Matt Sandusky, who had previously denied being abused by his adopted father, said that he was prepared to testify for the prosecution against his father, the former assistant football coach at Penn State.
A statement from Matt Sandusky's lawyer, Andrew Shubin, said the experience has been "extremely painful," that there would be no further comment, and asked reporters to respect Matt Sandusky's privacy.
Shubin confirmed reports in the Harrisburg Patriot-News today that Matt Sandusky had asked to speak with prosecutors to disclose for the first time that he had been abused by his father.
According to the newspaper, Matt had a "rocky relationship" with his father. His biological mother, Debra Long, told the Patriot-News in March that she believed Jerry Sandusky had stolen her son from her and reported "strange behavior" between her son and Jerry Sandusky.
The jury in the Sandusky abuse trial began deliberations this afternoon after seven days of testimony.
