My fiancé and I are headed to Sandals St. Lucia after our wedding in a couple weeks for our honeymoon.

My question is does anyone have any recommendations for excursions/adventures? I know most everything on resort is free but I imagine after a couple days you might be looking for something different off-site. The website lists a bunch of different excursions through third-party companies so just looking for some advice.

Also, how much cash should I bring? I'll have my credit cards but just seeing if taking out cash beforehand is necessary.

Any other tips appreciated.

Isn't this a swinger's resort?

I doubt the locals really like dealing with credit cards. Bring cash and keep some for tipping and exchange for the local currency. I'd recommend either exchanging at the airport or at the hotel (most have an exchange).

On our honeymoon, some 6 years ago, the wife and I went to the Regency La Toc in St. Lucia. Had a blast. Mostly hung around the resort. You can eat at all three resorts, and I would suggest going to Kimonos. Cannot remember if it was at the one I was staying at.

We also played golf there, went on a zip-lining tour, and took a cruise to the Grand Pitons. I would definitely suggest the grand Pitons.

You really don't need cash, but I used cash to tip some of the waitresses we had. They don't get paid shite, but are very excellent when it comes to customer service!

Isn't St. Lucia the name of a Sandal's resort? Honest question. I could be wrong.

There's a jeep type tour that we liked. Takes you to waterfalls and such. Also took a day trip to Martinique that was fun. It's a couple hour boat ride and they serve drinks on the boat.

I recommend a boat cruise down to the Pitons. One excursion we did was a trip to a waterfall, then the Sulfur pits (don't go if you are hungover), then lunch at a cocoa plantation, back on the boat to the hotel. Haven't done ziplining or anything, the drive to the resort was harrowing enough.

There are/were three Sandals resorts in St. Lucia.

Wife and I stayed at the Regency. Played golf one day and went to the other resorts and hung out. The only excursion we did was a Son of Man Tour consisting of a boat ride around the Pitons and north part of the island, snorkeling and shopping.

Yeah, too lazy to look it up but there was the Regency La Toc, Halcyon Beach/Bay, and one other one. Grande maybe.

Don't ever do this to get foreign currency. Head to an ATM and withdraw.

went last month and had a blast.

Joe's Knows seemed to be the most popular but we didn't go on that one. We did a sunset cruise to the Pitons that was nice and would recommend.

You book the excursions through the kiosk at the resort and then it's billed to the room so the only cash you should need is for tips and any local purchases that you want to make

ETA: don't worry about exchanging dollars into the local currency, everyone down there takes dollars

We did the zip line. It was ok but probably wouldn't do again. Nothing special.

I went when I was younger so monetarily I don't know how much you should bring. But I would recommend a boat ride with some snorkeling. Some absolutely beautiful views on that island.

There is something about honeymoon spots like a Sandals that gross me out.

The thought that literally every room is full of people banging it out all day every day, and the prior tenants of your room were doing the same, I think I'd try to find something a little more local/off the beaten path to make me sleep better at night knowing I'm not laying in or near other people's previous activity residue.

I've got bad news for you...if you've ever stayed at a hotel before, you've slept in other peoples jizz sheets
