Just wondering how these jive......I suspect that far more officers have been downed than the others.

Where are the stats? You expect us to do your research?

Yes. I do. Call it somewhat of a scavenger hunt.

It's a really interesting read. Lots of truth in there.

Do we get to count dogs in the tally of gunned down citizens?

Both agencies previously reported an average of around 545 people killed by law enforcement a year, but the real number is likely closer to 1000
Doesn't specifiy if armed or not. I assume a very small fraction would have been unarmed.

Still, the loss of officers killed by suspects were the gravest concern for police officers' groups. Through the first half of 2015, 16 police officers were shot and killed.

There aren't going to be statistics for this. The best you can do is number of civilians vs number of police shot. Whether or not either are unjust would be a point of contention and personal judgment, especially considering that some people tend to think that the majority of police who commit bad shootings get away with it due to the thin blue line.

Armed or unarmed doesn't do it for me. I would literally need to know how the shooting went down. I know several instances were an unarmed criminal took the officers gun in a struggle. Ifor your reaching for the gun and ur unarmed and get killed that's justified for me.

Agreed, moral of the story is mind your own business, don't piss them off when you get pulled over, and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Well, I guess if there are about 1000 civilians vs about 32 police killed per year that does make you think that many times more civilians are unjustly killed per year. But who knows. It also makes you think that being police really isn't that dangerous.

Why would you assume this?

TulaneLSU was an OL on Hallman's team. All makes sense now.

Laws of probability. The number of civilians is quite high. The number of cops is quite low. Some percent of police shootings is bound to be a frick up. It wouldn't take a large percent to be more. Who knows though. No way to know without analyzing every shooting. There doesn't seem to be enough information, and it would all be opinion anyway.
Eta: Using simple math it would take 0.032% of lethal shootings by police being bad for there to be more unjustly dead civilians than the floor for police assuming all police who died was unjust. This is an accuracy of well above 99%. Probably even with police looking as good as possible in this scenario there are more civilians unjustly killed.

He didn't pass away but was shot going for his wallet which the officer instructed him to do.

Plus the kid on acid that was shot by a U of South Alabama officer was unarmed, and naked.
Guess that could be considered a small fraction.
