neighbor informed me that pelican point is considering a move to a private club? I know this has been discussed a few times in the past but never carried out - any truth to these rumors?

I don't think it would hurt them much. I think it's a pace of play issue. I still don't think they'll go through with it

It's hard to say that without knowing how much revenue they get from public vs private play

Their is obviously a membership number where it makes sense and they could possibly be approaching it.

Also, going fully private could gain them a few more members that are on the brink of joining.

That's a little misleading

to me, they are a similar caliber of course, but Carter tends to be in better shape, but not always.

PP has seen improvement in the past couple of years.

That's what I was thinking but they charge the same as Carter and a little more at some times so I was wondering.

Carter sucked a huge dick when I played there 2 months ago. Design sucks too.

I think that pel pt gets alot of public play and i don't think that the numbers are there to sustain a private club. i have lived in pel point since 2003 and I would be a little bummed if it went private. I'm not member just play golf out there as a regular and would that mean that I would loose that opportunity and the only way I would play would be as a member?

That place is a glorified goat ranch....but they have ZERO competition in AP...Doug Diez bought it back from his investors...he's an old school douchebag
