PLUS, I think a lot of products that don't sell at other Rouses get sent to the further stores.

Especially the produce and their frozen outdated repacked meat.

This will always be tGOAT grocery store if we're going to include defunct ones.
The one in Gentilly had a bar room in it. I could get a scotch and water, a dozen eggs, a chili dog, crab nets, a box of Cookie Crisp and a pack of steaks in 45 minutes.

not bad meat like Rouses

I find their meat terrible, esp the ground meat. Their butcher dept stinks. WD ground meat much fresher ad no off taste.Steaks better and all other butcher items better at Langenstiens.

Oak point is ridiculous. Everything in there is overpriced. Old J & lil J is making a killing off of Central and Watson. I would personally never shop there because of the way they run their business

sorry you're poor.

From the looks of things, I don't think they have missed you much.

I can foresee Rouses either trying to continue its expansion or it be purchased by a bigger fish like a HEB or Publix.

I've heard somewhere, maybe here, that was the end game to be bought out by a larger chain. Especially after they expanded into Alabama.

I like rouse’s variety a lot, but their food made in store leaves a lot to be desired. It’s all pretty bland

i don’t live in Methville anymore. And I don’t even plan on visiting. All the joys of rural life was not worth the traffic of a big city

Rouses is the worst thing that ever happened to the AG stores they purchased. It's been all downhill since.

Carter's and Oak Point any day of the week over Rouses especially for customer service, meat, and lunches.

Solely based on those stores near my neighborhood (East Metairie), Winn Dixie is a lot cheaper with a member card, but be prepared to wait a really long time in line and hang out with the poors. Kind oif like shopping at Wal Mart.

Rouses is a much better experience with better products, meat, deli, bakery, and produce. Not expensive but more than WD with a card.

WalMart shop online with pick up locations.

In Metairie, they are using a former bank branch.

Wal MArt Pickup is convenient and very cheap. You get hit on quality (bad) and their "subsitution" policy can be questionable.
On the plus side, you can refuse to accept something and they'll take it off your bill.
I wouldnt go with fresh meat, deli, or produce from them so I still have to go to WD, Rouses, Dorignacs, Fresh Market, Costco, or Trader Joe's (Aint capitalism a bitch... )

The Winn Dixie in Pville is great.

I live in daily fear of this place closing down one day. Did anybody hear or read about Winn Dixie home deliveries?
