Unless Winn Dixie has changed a lot in the last five years, it's pretty bad.

Depends on the Rouses. The one by me kinda sucks.

Same. The one in Ponchatoula isn't bad and I shop there often but the one in Hammond has better steaks and a better beer selection.

Rouses or Winn Dixie

Really depends on what you're looking for. Winn Dixie is very serviceable and usually runs good deals on meat (not bad meat like Rouses). If I'm looking for hard to find items then I'm skipping both and going to a local based grocery.

I find that every Rouses location is pretty good.

Winn Dixie, some are outstanding, some are meh, some are awful.

The one in Chalmette is awful, so I never go to it.

There is a Rouses and a WD right across the street from each other in Mid-City off Carrollton Ave. and I will drive past WD to go to Rouses.

Rouses prices are everyday type, no need for a damn store card so they can track your purchases like WD does.

You don't have the store card, the prices are more at the checkout counter since you won't get their discount pricing.

There's a Winn Dixie and Rouses literally across the street from each other in Mid City, N.O. I choose the Winn Dixie every single time. Better store in every category except for alcohol.

They are both interchangeable in my opinion. If you dropped me in the middle with no identifying signs I wouldn’t know which one I was in

Winn Dixie is fantastic for if you need a few items on a Sunday and feel like standing in line for 20 minutes because only one register is open. Highly recommend

Depends on if it's a new Rouses or a store they bought and turned into a Rouses. The new Rouses are nice. The stores turned into Rouses are shite.

That's kind of my opinion.

I prefer WalMart Grocery/Neighborhood w/e it's claled over Rouses for everything except alcohol.

The one By ULL in Lafayette. It's the worst Rouses I've ever been to.

I second this. The Rouses on Bertrand and Congress is a complete shithole. Horrible management and layout. It needs a complete refresh.

The Rouses on Johnson past the mall is a nice store but the prices and products are out of whack. They are consistently higher priced on everyday items and alcohol than everywhere else. Like you guys I would go here for alcohol. They had a lady running the liquor department but she left, then they had a young guy running it, and he left. They're running off a lot of their good people.

PLUS, I think a lot of products that don't sell at other Rouses get sent to the further stores.

All of that said, I've shopped in a ton of crappy Winn Dixies too. Rouses isn't a mark of quality outside of the ones around Thibodeaux.
